Our June "Third Thursday" was held at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee

In June, the YPS "Third Thursday" social gathering was held on Thursday, June 19th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Hu Ke Lau Restaurant & Dinner Theater at 705 Memorial Drive in Chicopee, MA  (Click Here for Map & Directions).

June’s CEO Luncheon was hosted by Cynthia J. Anzalotti of CityStage & Symphony Hall

June’s CEO Luncheon was hosted by Cynthia J. Anzalotti, President, CityStage & Symphony Hall on Friday, June 6th from Noon-1:30pm. CityStage is located at 1 Columbus Ave in Springfield (Click Here for Map & Directions).

The 2,611-seat Symphony Hall is home to Broadway-style theatre, top-quality children’s programming, internationally-recognized speakers and numerous concerts and performances. Built in the early 1900s, the historic building underwent an extensive renovation in the fall of 2004. Patrons are enjoying refurbished seating, newly painted ceilings, walls and flours, new acoustical and decorative draperies and improved restroom facilities. At CityStage, Off-Broadway comedies, dramas and musicals are presented October through April in the intimate, 487-seat Blake Theatre; the 70-seat Winifred Arms Theatre is host to numerous community events, performances and meetings.

May’s CEO Luncheon was hosted by Joe Carvalho, President, Springfield Museums on Friday, May 2nd from Noon-1:30pm. The Springfield Museums are located at 21 Edwards Street in Springfield, MA. The CEO Luncheon Series is an opportunity to connect with like-minded young professionals and learn fundamental skills of success from our region’s top leaders. On Saturday May 3rd the YPS helped "Keep Springfield Beautiful"

Litter, graffiti, unkempt streets, roads, blocks and parks are far more than just unsightly; these are symptoms of uncaring behavior and a wake-up call for citizens who are concerned about their community's quality of life. Keep Springfield Beautiful needs your help in answering that call!

On May 3, 2008 from 8:30am-12:00noon, Volunteers met at 8:30am at the Urban League of Springfield at 765 State Street). During this day we worked with other volunteer groups to help remove trash from streets, dump sites and remove graffiti from our 17 neighborhoods in the city.

Afterwards the YPS Crew relaxed at McCaffrey's Public House, 1171 Main St. in Springfield. McCaffrey's provided food and a cash bar as we unwound after helping to Keep Springfield Beautiful.

Our April "Third Thursday" was held at the Eastfield Mall

Our April YPS "Third Thursday" social gathering was held on Thursday, April 17th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Eastfield Mall Food Court at 1655 Boston Rd. in Springfield (Click Here for Map & Directions).

April’s CEO Luncheon with Dr Stephen Mahoney, Principal of The Springfield Renaissance School

Dr. Stephen Mahoney, principal of The Renaissance School, shared how his students and faculty are challenged to take the reins of community leadership and to understand and meet the demands of the modern workplace. The Springfield Renaissance School is a partnership between Springfield Public Schools and Expeditionary Learning Schools, and is funded, in part, by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

CEO Luncheon with ACCGS / Urban Land Institute (ULI)

Young Professional Society of Greater Springfield (YPS) held their CEO Luncheon on December 6th, from 12:00pm - 1:30pm hosted by the Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield. This luncheon featured a presentation by the ACCGS president, Russell F. Denver and a representative of the City’s Planning and Economic Development Office.

Our November Third Thursday Event

Our November YPS social gathering was held on November 15th, 2007 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Boston Billiard Club located at 885 Riverdale Street in West Springfield (directly across from Showcase Cinemas).

We had a terrific turnout for this event and had the pleasure of raffling off many great prizes. Boston Billiard Club had provided the food and also several pool tables where attendees were able to shoot pool and network in a fun and active environment.

Hear Tony Cignoli share the basics of politics and what is needed from Young Professionals in the region. Whether it’s personal or professional, politics impact your life and your voice & vote are important! Get tips on local and national resources to help you understand the issues so critical to our community. In addition to explaining on how best to get involved the political process and how it can benefit you, Tony Cignoli will share inside tips on how his corporate and business clients appropriately utilize politics every day to benefit their efforts.

Tony Cignoli will present from 10:30am to 12pm with additional time for questions.

August Third Thursday Event

Last month's social gathering was held on August 16th at the roof top deck at Skybar in the Skyplex at 10 Stearns Square in downtown Springfield. with a birds eye view of downtown, everyone enjoyed outdoor socializing under the sun on the rooftop. Thanks to Skyplex for being the host of our last social of the summer!.

August CEO Roundtable

Our last CEO event was held on August 15th with Allan W. Blair, President & CEO of the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts. Blair has more than 20 years experience in land development and major economic development projects. He has served as President/CEO of Westover Metropolitan Development Corp. since 1984, and the EDC since its creation in 1996.

July Third Thursday Event

Samuel's Tavern was the host for our July YPS Third Thursday on July 19th. We had a terrific turnout for this event! May Third Thursday Event

Thank you goes out to Cobalt at 1 Worthington Street in Downtown Springfield (www.cobaltdowntown.com) for hosting our second Third Thursday social gathering. Entertainment was provided by DJ Hush. This chic event takes place from 5pm-7 PM and is fast becoming known as the best networking and social experience in the area for young professionals.

Thank you also to special guests, the staff from Salon Chiala (www.SalonChiala.com). These amazing folks are the creative masterminds behind one of the most exciting fundraisers in the area; the "Cause/Effect Fashion Show" to benefit the Boys & Girls Club!
