Meet Our Board: Tyler Hadley, Treasurer
Tyler Hadley of DDS Acoustical Specialties, who serves as treasurer for YPS of Greater Springfield’s Executive Board.
In between acquainting you with upcoming speakers and behind-the-scenes from our bustling business calendar, we are eager to introduce another member of our Executive Board: our treasurer, Tyler Hadley.
Hadley hails from Wilbraham, Mass. He graduated from Westfield State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a minor in business management. He is now the vice president of sales and marketing at DDS Acoustical Specialties of Westfield, Mass., which is a commercial acoustics and noise-control firm that serves educational, healthcare-oriented, corporate and public-sector clients in the Northeast.
Hadley leads revenue growth, brand strategy and marketing expansion for the firm, and is responsible for building and executing their go-to-market strategy across consulting, product distribution and turnkey installation services. He ensures that every lead, proposal and project is technically accurate and aligns with business performance.
His other relevant experience includes time as a marketing manager at Way Finders in Springfield, Mass. When he is not working, busy being a super-star dad, participating in local chambers and the YMCA or playing pickup basketball, Hadley serves as treasurer for our Executive Board.
Tyler hands with Gabry Tyson and Kara Bombard at the check-in table at one of our many networking events.
“I was actually randomly invited on LinkedIn,” Hadley said. “I thought there was a lot of opportunity for growth in an organization like YPS… My favorite parts are meeting new people, working together and helping new recruits reach their goals.”
When asked what his best advice would be for a first timer, Hadley said, “Put yourself out there. Invade any circles of conversation and I guarantee that you will be welcomed with open arms and briefed on the subject.”
On a similar note, he shared that the best career advice he ever received was, “Short-term discomfort creates long-term leverage.”
Tyler toasts to YPS of Greater Springfield with a friend during happy hour.
“Whether it’s tough conversations, learning a new skill or taking on a risk,” explained Hadley, “[embracing short-term discomfort] will help you see that growth feels uncomfortable and avoiding discomfort does little more than stall careers. I have come to enjoy trying new things.
“Short-term discomfort is often the entry fee for leverage—that is leverage in credibility, trust, influence and optionality. People who consistently choose the easier path may feel comfortable today, but they’re limiting tomorrow’s opportunities for themselves. Meanwhile, those who lean into discomfort build a career that compounds in ways those that play it safe cannot replicate.”
His grand takeaway? “Discomfort is not always a signal you’re doing something wrong; it is often a sign you are doing something right.”
In the spirit of our trusty treasurer, we encourage each of you to lean into uncertainty as you network—be unafraid to present as yourself, unapologetic in your conquest of connections and unendingly curious. Most of all, allow us to make the first step easier for you by joining us at an event with YPS of Greater Springfield.
Caitlyn Elliot-Hadley, wife to Tyler and fellow YPS’er, and Tyler spend time with other young professionals at a social outing.

In the meanwhile, he and his wife and fellow YPS’er, Caitlin Elliott-Hadley, will be enjoying their parental leave and celebrating the birth of their first child. We on the Executive Board congratulate them and wish a resounding “welcome to the world” to our youngest professional.
