YPS Planning Committees

The driving force behind the success of YPS is the volunteers serving on our committees. They spearhead events and programs, organize volunteer efforts, raise awareness, and promote a diverse and inclusive environment for members and the community.

YPS is currently accepting new members into our committees. Most committees meet monthly for one-hour virtually or at an agreed upon location. Committee members may be tasked with assignments to be completed between meetings. YPS promotes an environment of open communication, idea sharing, and shared involvement. We'd love to have you be a part of our growth.

For consideration on a committee, please complete this brief interest form.

  • The DEI Committee works to integrate best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion into YPS policies and programs. Volunteer members provide research, recommendations, event and engagement support, and policy guidance. The overall purpose of this committee is to ensure that our organization, events, and activities provide an inclusive and safe space for all members of the Greater Springfield area and beyond.

YPS Members interested in joining the DEI committee would have a strong background in DEI facilitation, professional development and a commitment to improving belonging in the region.

  • The numerous events put on by YPS would not be possible without the committee member volunteers. All events are backed by committee members including Third Thursdays, Leadership Luncheons, The Great Golf Escape, Adult Field Day, Friendsgiving, and Santa Con. Members are encouraged to explore new, creative opportunities that align with their interests that could bring Young Professionals together.

YPS Members interested in joining the Events Committee would have experience planning events of varying sizes or interest in learning, a detail-oriented nature, ability to develop new relationships with the local business and community organizations, strong communication skills, and ability to delegate to a team.

  • Making sure your YPS membership works for you, our volunteer membership committee is focused on supporting members and coming up with new, creative benefit options that encourage new membership as well as membership renewal. The Membership Committee manages our database and provides meaningful insight into who YPS is currently serving.

YPS Members interested in joining the Membership Committee would have strong communication skills and be data oriented. Experience with CRM or Membership databases is a plus though not required.

  • The mission, message, and regular communication to the Greater Springfield community would not be possible without the volunteer marketing committee members. The Marketing Committee manages the YPS brand through our website, communication, social media channels, advertising, signage, and outreach. The committee maintains a clear and consistent voice for the community to engage across multiple YPS events, activities and platforms.

YPS Members interested in joining the marketing committee would have a creative personality,  general knowledge of current marketing practices, comfort in using new technologies, and experience in content planning and execution.
